About Me

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Mitch Daniels School of Business of Purdue University, and a visiting postdoctoral researcher at MIT Institute for Data, Systems, and Society, under the supervision of Prof. David Simchi-Levi. I earned my Ph.D. degree from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences at Northwestern University, where I was advised by Prof. Seyed Iravani and Prof. Ohad Perry.

My research centers on the performance analysis, design, and control of stochastic systems through applying and developing tools in applied probability, queueing theory, and optimization. A key focus of my work is understanding the value of redundancy, flexibility, and their interplay—with both their limited (“a little”) and full versions—in improving (or potentially harming) the efficiency of fork-join systems. My work has broad relavance to a range of applications, including online service operations (e.g., cloud computing and storage systems, federal learning platforms), healthcare systems, supply chains, and multi-agent LLM systems.

Prior to Northwestern, I received my bachelor’s degree in Engineering Mechanics at Peking University (ranking top 1 in the major), where I was advised by Prof. Leyuan Shi. In summer 2020, I worked as an operations reseracher intern in Cardinal Operations.
